Founder of Guild of the Professional English Butlers

Robert Watson has spent his career working in, setting up and training many of the butlers in the top hotels and private households around the world.

His credentials span some 40 years where he began his career on the hotel side at the young age of 14 in Bournemouth, the seaside" town of 1000 hotels." Almost instantly, he was drafted to be night manager. While still a teen, he had mastered most of the hotel's food and beverage side as well.

"Discovered" by the owner of one "movie star" hotel he eventually served, Watson entered the haute world of private service. Unlike many British butlers in the past, who learned household service in one manor, his private butlering was a synthesis of what he'd learned in the hotel world.

Elevated by instinct and observation, he was soon Head Butler at the London Lanesborough Hotel before running The Guild of Professional English Butlers. Today, he is recognized worldwide and his services are requested to train at some of the most prestigious hotels around the world.
