Misja Vorstermans is one of Amsterdam’s best known bartenders due to his high profile career mixing cocktails and training bar staff for the capital’s trendsetters and style leaders.  

At age 14 he served his first beer at his sister’s bar when a customer demanded a man pour his drink. Being the only “man” in the bar, Misja started his career as a bartender.

After completing a degree in Physical Education, he spent over 2 years, teaching sports to kid’s in a juvenile prison as well as organizing team building events for companies.  It was these skills that helped him set up later in his career The Fabulous Cocktail Academy. 

Misja received his initial cocktail training in 1995 at the high-end club, restaurant & cocktail bar Vakzuid in the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium.  After 5 years, he joined Ricardo Sporkslede and Tal Nadari to form The Fabulous Shaker Boys.  Misja became well known and a respected name in the international cocktail scene. He trained many bartenders and cocktail aficionado’s the ins & outs of making cocktails. You can see Misja in action giving seminars or judging at bar shows in London, New Orleans, Paris or Berlin.  He is an ambassador for several brands including Bacardi, Wyborowa, Havana Club and Schweppes. 

Misja continues to write columns and is seen making guest appearances on radio & television. Developing trainings and cocktails for brands and bars and doing styling for cocktails shoots are still his specialty.
