Dennis works in exclusive bars, and is also responsible as a beverage manager for massive indoor and outdoor festivals by event-organisation ID&T.
From quite an early age, Dennis Tamse realised that his interests and
talents were in the bar industry. As a bartender, he has worked both inside the Netherlands and
abroad.
He has been involved in the development of several
drinks like Ursus Vodka and Red Devil Energy drink and has also set up and run
a club in Saint Petersburg. In
Amsterdam he was part of the first generation Fabulous Shaker Boys, a group of
enthusiastic cocktail lovers who managed to put the cocktail back on the map in
the Dutch bars. At ‘Sensation’ in Madrid he managed all of the bar-staff and the vip-decks.
Dennis says, “The beauty of my job is to see what’s happening in front
of the bar, to see whether my guests have a good time or not. Everything is
happening right in front of my eyes. Do I give them some more attention, or is
it better to let them be for a while?
It’s a game. And if you know how to play it, you can make people leave
at the end of the night in a great mood.
To tell the story behind a drink, you add to the enjoyment. And that’s
what counts, to have a great time both behind, as well at the bar.”
